Golden Sun

It didn't take long for a RPG to come that shows what the GameBoy Advance is capable of. That RPG is called Golden Sun. In Golden Sun you are a group of heroes that must save the world from destruction, which has been used and abused hundreds of times by now, but its the gameplay that separates Golden Sun from other RPGs. For some gameplay elements, it seems like Golden Sun has taken what makes Pokemon successful and threw them into Golden Sun. For example each character has psynergies that are either water, fire, earth or wind elements. Some of these psynergies can be used outside of battle to push pillars, read minds, reveal secret passageways and make vines grow. Another part of Golden Sun is catching little creatures called Djinn, each Djinni is a single element and offers a single move that either affects stats or deal some damage. Using a number of these Djinn can summon powerful creatures to punish foes. The amount of damage depends on the element of the move you used, so there is a bit strategy involved as well. The graphics in this game are amazing, the areas are pre-rendered, the world map uses a 3D effect similar to RPGs from Super Nintendo and the camera moves around during battle. Screenshots just don't show how much happens in a battle, all the little effects and details makes random battles exciting. Theres even multiplayer which allows you to battle your party against a friend's. Golden Sun is a must have, whether you are a huge RPG fan or not. You don't want to miss this one.
